To My Emilie Autumn Dears...

Already scowering the bowers and behind spindley spider webs for moppets to join the brigade for Wicked Tea Party.  Things went off without a hitch last year and looking to expand and have a little more fun and cause some havoc.  So show me all my Opheliac's.  Tie up your corsets, show me your virtue, and lets paint the town red.  If you can warble a tune you will not be turned away, I expect flaunting it like a burlesque show.  So what are you waiting for, tell me if your up to doll up as your sweet Lolita self, munch on crumpets and sip tea until you drop.

A pox on those who are out.  ^.^

Looking for Plans and Solidifying Others

1st test tonight for a class, crossing fingers and toes.

Working on the whole saving up money to go to PARF the weekend of the 24th/25th of October.

At what other job would you find your supervisor sputtering around your office and holding her arms out like she's an airplane... I ask you this... seriously, where?

I make funny faces at my co-workers and make jokes and still get all my work done and in on time.

Escape for the weekend is needed.  I'm about to string myself up by my toes.  Working Cloisters, but otherwise, any reason to be out of the house would be lovely.

Already thinking as far ahead as Wicked, considering costuming it up this year.  Suggestions?  I'm trying to keep my brain busy with anything but school work.

In relation to costuming... looking for fire blowers and anyone else willing to perform or help out for Halloween.  It's official that I'll be doing fund raising for the house I work for, but in addition, we're turning the basement into beer pong room, the back porch will be the bar, I'll be doing a majority of the cooking to serve all of the guests who will be showing up and there will be ample space for people to sleep over for the night or for the weekend.  Zombies are also needed.  The house is officially going to be turned into Tortuga Bay with air canons, hopefully water balloons, singing, dancing, and the whole nine yards.

HALLOWEEN PARTY

SAVE THE DATE:  October 31, 2008

Yup, I'm positing it way early this year.

Hosting a Halloween party on the actual night of Halloween (October 31, 2008) at the house.  The theme is "Pirate Ship" this year.  The whole house is going to be decorated and turned into a pirate ship, there will be air cannons and water balloons (watch out for yours truly on the roof top).  There will be a full buffet for party attendees including drinks (provided by yours truly and the housemate and neighbors).  It will pretty much be a two day evening.  Friday night of Halloween it will be party time at the house, Zombie dance parties in the front yard, Zombie DJing by Aiben and possibly Krowface, possible mead tasting, candy for the kiddies, karaoke (feel free to bring anything along that you want to pop into the TV or perform outside), beer pong in the basement and backyard (if it's still warm enough there will be penalties including the pool), pumpkin carving, face painting (for kids young and old), scary and stupid movies in the house and outside on the projector screen, and anything else anyone can think up before than. We're hoping to get a good number of the Raven Spittle clan up to join us for the event, as well.   I'll also be doing some raffles to raise money for the shelter I work for, no one is required to put money towards it, I just want people to come to the party and have a great time.

People are more than welcome to sleep over, there are two actual guest rooms in the house and an office that doubles as a guest room so we can fit at the very least, 10 people in the guest rooms alone.  Plans are to go out for breakfast the next morning (or I may just make breakfast for everyone) and do anything else fun to keep the great vibe of the weekend going, whether it's explore around New Paltz, take a hike, see a movie, or just laze around the house all day.

Also, we're really looking for people to not only come party, but add to the ambiance of the house.  We get really into Halloween on our block.  We've got a 'King of the Zombies' this year who will be running 'cast' for the house, so if you want in, let me know.  We're looking to have a great Halloween this year and hoping that everyone can join us for the fun.

Duh, if you can see this post, your invited! I'll be sending out Evites later on during the month.  ^.^

Get your zombie pirate on!

Black Monday

Home.

Thank you Kim for the call to see where I was, but the phone was on silent in my bag >.< I got lost while trying to catch up with the caravan so just pulled off into IHOP for dinner.  Missed you guys, I'll be a more efficient driver next time.   And yes I know, the invitation is standing ^.^

Long weekend.

Starting classes at a new school for my second year of grad school.  Excitement. Nervousness.  Joy.

I love this past weekend for getting closer with new friends, but also mourning the loss of those once close.

Hope everyone had a great weekend ^.^

Pennsic Wars

I want to go back home.

I misses it lots.

Will post pictures when I get the chance, currently just need to relax after doing the 2 a.m. wake up and drive to faire on Sunday from Pennsic and then getting a few hours of sleep before having to go back to work today.

It's so odd, after being away fro 2 weeks, I feel like I'm suddenly more accepted as a regular full-timer at work.  I missed working at the house and working with the kids and staff; I was sort of dreading going back to the work week, but it was a pretty awesome first day back.

But I still want to go home.  I need a night with friends, chilling at Inner Vagabond.. that would be the start to a perfect week.

*sigh* Just got a voicemail from Nissa letting me know that they finally found the massage table pieces after breaking down the rest of Gladitoria.  I miss Ajax and everyone else from there and the Spittle crew.... I miss everyone!

I got into Marist... had my interview today and the program director said that I will be getting my letter in the mail in about a week.  OMFG, so happy!

Pennsic starts this week for us at the house.  There is a ton of packing left to do, so I'm keeping away from the computer; if peoples wants to get in touch, call or text, you'll be much more likely to get a hold of me.  I'll check my mail on Friday, but then that will be it for two weeks.  Unless I see you peoples at faire ^.^

So freakin' happy!!!!!

I GOT INTO THE COLLEGE I WANTED!  I'M GOING TO MARIST!!!!

Insomniac

Worked overnight-awake last night, shift started at 10, I've been up since than and haven't got a bit of shut eye since.  Finally, 20 hours later, without a break and no naps, I'm back home, munching on some Chinese food, more loopy than a merry-go-round and feeling half ready to go back to work.  Had 3 A-WOLs happen this afternoon, all while I was learning new administrative stuff.   Would have been nice to be able to see how the rest of the evening went after that.  However, that means a much more relaxed rest of the week...

well not really.  Quarterly report is due on the 15th... I'll probably be busy working on it when I'm not doing support staff stuff.  God I feel so behind on all the paperwork already, it sucks big time.

FINALLY..... got to watch Tank Girl the movie.  I've been a reader for awhile and was really impressed with the screen version.  Pretty sweet.  "Snip, snip"   Movie put me in a great mood.

Now it's time to go pass out.

Bailey moves in as the new housemate next weekend after Shawn and Alison move, flippin' sweet!

The Schedule and Lack of Sleep

Saturday was 11p.m. - 9a.m.

Sunday (tonight) is 10 p.m. - 8 a.m.

Monday is... well 8 a.m. (yes, non-stop) until whenever I finish up with the billing, etc. and get together with my director in order to go over grant stuff that is due by the 15th... so I'm hoping to be out of there and home by 1 p.m. on Monday, but I'm not so sure about that one... there will be updates later on.

Contemplating DVDs to bring tonight to watch while the residents are asleep.  Any suggestions?  I'll watch anything other than horror :p

Plans for next weekend still on?  Woodchuck, I still haven't seen anything about your birthday, still on Saturday, time, etc?

New Positions and Far Less Time

I got to finally hang out with some people last weekend going fishing and just plain hanging out.  It was so nice to see everyone and finally have the time to get together and just do fun stuff, rather than sit around the house and catch up on grad school reading/work.

I still want to have a house warming party, feels so anti-climatic since I've moved upstate.  Part of it has to do with the fact that I've been elevated to a new position at work and have basically been put into the position of making sense of the mess that the previous Administrative Coordinator left for me to pick up the pieces of.  Finding myself doing a lot more things that are 'new' to me, like doing a quarterly report and creating grants (all of which are still alien to me and I'm expected to have then done by the 15th of July... *cries*) ...I know that I can handle this stuff and dig out of the paper hole that the last A.C. left, but it just seems so overwhelming and I've only been in the position for a week now and have felt so close to crying every time that I've left the office to either go home or to the main office.  I've stayed an average of 2-3 hours overtime in order to have everything in order for when I come in on Monday, so I'm not scrambling through my papers like a maniac, to take care of checks, payroll, etc. ...and it just sucks that I don't get paid for those hours.

I feel like such a sick individual because I enjoy stuff like this as much as I dislike it.  I enjoy going through the numbers and figuring out the statistics that are needed fro reports, I enjoying working in my new position and with the kids at the shelter... I don't mind the extra hour or two to figure things out... but god I can see how someone could get burned out really fast.  I'm sure that things will calm down to a lull within the next week or two and I'll have the work down to a science and be down in the kitchen baking for the kids because I want to keep myself busy with something and I'll still have 2 hours left to my work day.

The work day itself isn't that bad.  The staff at the main office is wonderfully sweet and understanding that I'm new and always willing to explain something to me.  The case works and other people at the house I'm at are great; they care about the kids and are always willing to explain things to me as well, no question is stupid and I'm not expected to get everything the first time it's told to me... I'm human.  Dress for work is hippie casual... I kid you not.  One of the staffers comes in at least once a week with a cloth bandanna, Beetles florescent t-sheet, and a pair of rolled-up gardening pants.  It's pretty damn cool.  I still opt for things that are appropriate and may tend on the side of business casual, but I'm getting more use to that I can wear jeans and a t-shirt and it's ok!

I'll be getting my own car in the next few weeks... excited and not about it.

I miss my friends and I miss my family ... I miss having a life.

*I've got Gambit comics to read at work tonight, joy!  Celebrated the 4th by watching Star Wars and BBQing with the housemates, fun times*
